There is a small number of Malay students in NUS High School, but...
Reports on NUS High School noted the small number of Malay students enrolled in the school as the school celebrates its 10th anniversary in 2015. Report noted that there was an average of five students in the Malay Language (ML) class for each cohort, while the normal class size at the school was 25 students. Ms Rohaida Ismail, the school's only ML teacher, commented that she often received queries from parents who asked if there were Malay students and if ML was offered in the school. She added that her students were perceived as gifted, though their strength in ML was not as strong as in Mathematics and Science.

Among the pioneer batch now studying medicine in UK
Hafizah Mohamed Nor, one of the students from the pioneer batch, who was currently studying Medicine in University of Newcastle, UK. Report also noted that Hafizah was one of the top Malay students in PSLE in 2005 with an aggregate score of 272.

Continue to challenge self in Mathematics
Muhammad Irham Rasyidi Zainal, who recently completed his diploma in Mathematics and Science with Honours. Report also noted that he had participated in at least four competitions in mathematics and informatics and won several awards in the National Olympiad in Informatics in 2012, 2013 and 2014.

Lively Science Student
Report featured Qu Xinyi, an 18-year-old student from NUS High School of Mathematics and Science, who won the Association of Asia Pacific Physical Society Award for the Best Female Student at the Asian Physics Olympiad 2014. Qu did well in her primary school to be accepted by NUS High School under its Direct School Admissions exercise.

NUS High to spread maths, science success 
NUS High School is now ready to look outwards, and spread its passion for teaching and learning maths and science to others. By the middle of next year, it will be rolling out a programme to share with principals and teachers of other schools ways to teach difficult concepts to young students, guide research and use the inquiry approach in classes.
