NUS High School Wins at the 7th International Science Youth Forum @ Singapore 2015

With strong support from the A*STAR, MOE, the Institute of Advanced Studies at NTU and Hwa Chong Institution organised the 7th International Science Youth Forum @ Singapore (ISYF) from 18 to 22 January 2015.

The ISYF aims to create a high-profile platform for budding science talents to network with one another and to dialogue with Nobel Laureates Through these interactions, the forum will create greater awareness among the youth about the importance of broad-based knowledge, keen curiosity, relentless tenacity and a global outlook in the pursuit of science excellence.

This year more than 150 delegates and educators from premier schools from all over the world met with the Nobel Laureates to explore the cross-links of science and society, with the theme "Becoming a Modern Scientist".

A key part of the ISYF was a Research poster competition where all student delegates had their research posters judged by scientists from the A*Star in the first round, and the Nobel Laureates in the final round. Two local teams, HCI and NUSH respectively won this inaugural science research poster competition.

he NUSH research poster was entitled “Paint on Power” and the winning research team members representing school in this year ISYF are Ang Jing Zhi, Joy, Pang Wan Rion, Marion and Sonia E K Arumuganainar.
