NUS High School Students Clinch the Top Position in the Splash Awards (Pre-Tertiary Category)

Splash Awards, an annual Student Chapter flagship event organised by the Singapore Computer Society (SCS), is a national IT competition which provides a platform to engage students through various aspects of Infocomm technology in a fun and creative way.

With the competition theme "Education and Work - Reimagined", the competition aims to look for bold, unique and innovative ideas which re-image learning and work in Singapore.

A team of Year 6 students took part in Splash Award 2015. They created a software called RevUp which automatically generates practice questions for educators. Specifically, it is a software solution for Gap-Fill Question Generation (GFQG) from informative texts.  RevUP builds upon the fields of Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, and Natural Language Processing, to solve the problem of generating good questions. Their excellent work won them the Champion for the Pre-tertiary category. The winning team comprises of:

1. Girish Kumar (Year 6)
