A Good Performance at the STEP-NUS Sunburst Environment Programme

STEP-NUS Sunburst Environment Programme is an annual programme that aims to nurture environment champions among the youths (13-15 years old) of Singapore and Asia. Launched in 2013, the programme is origanised by STEP in partnership with NUS Climate Change and Sustainable Environment Research Initiative hosted by Tropical Marine Science Institute (TMSI) and the Lee Kong Chian Natural History Museum (LKCNHM).

The theme for 2015 is sustainability of food production and distribution, impact of climate change and food security. To demonstrate their awareness of green issues, students have to compete through essays, oral presentations and poster presentations. NUS High participated in this programme for the first time. Two teams comprising of four students each were sent in for competition. One team emerged 3rd for poster exhibition.

The Year 3 students that won the 3rd Prize for the poster exhibition are:
