NUS High School Wins 1 Gold and 1 Bronze in the 8th IOAA

The International Olympiad on Astronomy and Astrophysics (IOAA) is an annual event in which high school students from around the world compete against each other, solving theoretical, analytical and observational problems in the fields of astronomy and astrophysics. It is one of two major international astronomy Olympiads. This is the fourth consecutive year that Singapore has sent a team to the Olympiad, and also the fourth year NUS High School has been part of the national team. We are proud to have 2 students from NUS High School clinching a Gold and a Bronze medal respectively. There were 195 participants from 37 countries this year. The competition took place between 1st and 11th August 2014.

Our results:

NUS High School won 1 Gold and 1 Bronze
Wang Fan, Francis (M14604) – Gold (overall 3rd)

Kum Wei Kuan, David (M14608) - Bronze
