More than 50 teams of students from all over Singapore took part in the annual competition. The secondary school category was opened to both Secondary 1 and 2 students and NUS High faced competition from schools like Raffles Institution, Dunman High School and Nanyang Girls’ High amongst many others. In teams of 2 to 3, students were tested in their proficiency of the English language through idioms, phrases and proverbs. They also had to figure out antonyms of words and solve word-search puzzles.
The team of Natalie Devan, Tania Udella Djongianto and Ning Jun Jing of M14206 distinguished themselves by clinching the 2nd place.
