Singapore Youth Festival (SYF) 2014 Art Exhibition

Congratulations to Nguyen Ngoc Minh Uyen (M14607) for her artwork being identified for the SYF 2014 Art exhibition. The exhibition is now  held at Jurong Regional Library.

“The artwork depicts my hope to confront the burden of expectations on me as a traditional Asian woman. The soft flowing fabric in the kitchen setting symbolizes the characters and roles of a woman. As a female student artist, I wish not to be tied down by traditional expectations. Thus, lighting the candle in the dark kitchen is my way of acknowledging and confronting the issue.”
