Singapore Wins Top Position in 27th International Young Physicists’ Tournament

The national team attained 1st position. Of the five students representing Singapore in the national team, two are from NUS High School. They are Tan Shi Quan Joel and Poh Hui-Li Phyllis (both of them are from M14506).

This is the most number of representatives on the national team the school has sent, and furthermore, Phyllis is the first female student to represent Singapore at the IYPT.

The event took place between 3 and 10 Jul 2014.

The International Young Physicists’ Tournament is a team-oriented scientific competition among teams of secondary school students. The participants present their solutions to scientific problems they have prepared over several months and then discuss their solutions with other teams. The roles of Reporter (Presentation), Opponent and Reviewer are graded by a jury consisting of international experts.
