NUS High Girls won 1 Silver and 2 Bronze Medals at 12th China Girls’ Mathematical Olympiad

The 12th China Girls’ Mathematical Olympiad (CGMO) was held in Ningbo, China from 10th to 14th August, 2013. Four of our students, Toh Wei Qi (M13507), Surya Mathialagan (M13401), Hsiao I Ann (M13305) and Lim Li (M13205) represented Singapore in this competition.

After two days of intensive competition, our girls obtained 1 Silver Medal and 2 Bronze Medals. Hsiao I Ann and Toh Wei Qi won Bronze Medals and Surya won a Silver Medal. Surya was ranked 3rd among all overseas contestants.

Background

The China Girls’ Mathematical Olympiad (CGMO) has grown over the years to become the female version of the International Mathematical Olympiad (IMO). The best female Olympiad representatives from countries around the world compete against China’s best females in the CGMO for top honours in this annual competition.
