NCC Annual Orienteering Competition 2010

Five of our cadets, CPL Ong Jun Yi (206), CPL Pirateb S/O Paramasivam (205), CPL Chua Wee Kian (205), CPL Foo Ming Wei (205) and CPL Vuyyuru Manish Reddy (207) have done our school proud by clinching the 4th placing for the Annual NCC Orienteering Competition 2010. The competition was held in NCC Campus at Amoy Quee Camp on 20th October 2010.
 
There are more than 100 schools taking part in this annual competition. Each school is allowed to send only one team per unit.
 
The competitors have to go through 3 stations:
 
  1. Station 1. Orienteering Theory Test
  2. Station 2. Navigation Skill – No. of Checkpoints found
  3. Station 3. Orienteering Run -Time taken
 
The placing is based on the total points accumulated from all the 3 stations. Overall, our boys have shown excellent mental and physical stamina to complete the competition with good timing. The unit applauds and shares their joy.
