Students can look forward to a series of exciting local and overseas field trips conducted to complement the modules and to enhance their learning experience. Students will also be able to put theoretical knowledge into practical use in the field.
The ecology curriculum unique to NUS High School will be the highlight of the Year 5 biology module. The 3-day ecology field work at St. John’s Island or other equivalent habitats will enhance and complement the classroom learning of ecology from a practical perspective.
Students no longer need to rely on two-dimensional diagrams from textbooks to learn about the human anatomy and physiology. In Year 2, Year 3 and Year 5 biology modules, students can look forward to practicals which allow them to examine and dissect mice and animal organs such as the sheep’s brain, kidney and heart so as to better understand how the human system functions in relation to that of animals.
