NUS High School Wins 1 Gold and 2 Silver at the Singapore Biology Olympiad 2014
The Singapore Biology Olympiad is the most prestigious annual Biology competition in Singapore. Each year, several hundreds of top biology students from junior colleges take an initial theory test, from which several dozen students are shortlisted to take the practical test. Those emerging tops after these two rounds are awarded medals.
Being a medallist at SBO is the first step in the selection towards representing Singapore at the IBO (International Biology Olympiad). Selected medallists are interviewed and a final shortlist undergoes an intensive training programme by dedicated academics from NUS and NIE. Eventually, a "Final Four" and one reserve are chosen to form the Singapore Team to represent Singapore in the IBO.
