Admission to Year 1

NUS High School admits 100% of students through the Direct School Admission Secondary (DSA-Sec) Exercise and does not participate in the Secondary 1 (S1) Posting Exercise. If there are vacancies after the DSA-Sec Exercise, a Supplementary Intake Exercise (SIE) may be carried out in November before the end of the S1 Option Phase (selection of secondary schools after the release of PSLE results).

A. DSA-SEC EXERCISE

For admission to Year 1 at NUS High School, local applicants must be currently in Primary Six and sitting for the Primary School Leaving Examination (PSLE) in 2017. Overseas applicants must have obtained an equivalent qualification in 2017. In addition, applicants must be born between the years 2003 and 2005 and not be older than 15 years of age as of 1 January 2018.

The DSA-Sec exercise comprises a Selection Test, Selection Camp and Selection Interview. All applicants will have to sit for the Selection Test. Only shortlisted applicants will attend the Selection Camp, after which selected applicants will be invited to attend the Selection interview. Applicants will be notified of the admission outcome via e-mail.

Successful DSA applicants are not eligible for school transfer after the release of the PSLE results and cannot participate in the S1 Posting Exercise.
